FOGI impact over the past year
Friends of Grand Isle has been very impactful over the years. Here are some of our accomplishments thanks to members and donations.
Recent Support Efforts:
Donation to TOGI for immediate infrastructure needs.
Provided funds to First Responders through a grant from Bayou Community Foundation.
Provided funds to essential town workers through a private donation…Supplied 5K in gift cards to the three churches for their congregation for essential needs.
Assisted with set up items for portable housing, (e.g., sheets, towels, pots).
Donated a ¾ ton truck to TOGI gas department to assist with repair of gas meters/lines.
Partnered with Swollfest to donate money to the school.
Provided over 100 K for the appliance voucher program for full time home owners needing appliances through grants from several foundations, BCBS, and Entergy.
Purchased needed refrigerators, freezers and ice maker for Cajun Commissary in their effort to host volunteer groups through Hands of Hope to rebuild Grand Isle.
